Small business gets double whammy in Delyn

"This budget could be damaging for small and medium sized business in the long term. This is a substantial rise and will hit those looking to grow their business" said David Frost (Director of the British Chambers of Commerce). Many businesses in Wales are family run they face a double whammy. The abolition of the rural rate relief scheme could not come at a worse time for business in Delyn....causing a huge hike in bills. Labour run Flintshire Council has not provided any interim support for business, despite the fact that it would have cost the Council only £585,000 this year - coincidentally this is exactly the bill that Flintshire CC is going to have to pick up for its failed joint purchasing venture...that money could have been put to use supporting business that provides local income and employment.
