Manifesto launch in Delyn £48 million for schools

David Cameron came to Delyn to launch the Welsh Manifesto - the manifesto will give an extra £48 million for schools - with the aim of cutting the funding gap between Welsh and English Schools. Delyn receives £129 less funding per pupil than a pupil over the boarder. The proposal that schools will receive their budget direct from the Assembly on a three year budget will enable them to plan and innovate - and stop Flintshire Council keeping money which should be going direct to each pupil.

Antoinette said "The manifesto is shows how we will deliver change, it will result in better education for our children and freeing schools so they can plan for the future. There will be a programme of development for teachers. We have ruled out top up fees and invest more in higher education which will benefit Delyn students at the Welsh College of Horticulture in Northop and those going to NEWI and Deeside. The manifesto will deliver for Delyn and Wales ''
