Conservatives in Flintshire make spectacular progress

The Conservatives in Flintshire had a stunning election result, increasing their vote by 43% on the 2003 Assembly election and only missed taking the seat by 511 votes. The fact that UKIP took 1300 votes on the constituency ballot meant that the Conservatives lost the seat - when they could have taken it from Labour. The message to Conservative voters turning to UKIP is clear - by voting UKIP you let in Labour. Congratulations to Antoinette Sandbach and all who supported her. This result shows that the Welsh Conservatives are a force to be reckoned with in Flintshire.
