Time for a referendum on Europe

The European Scrutiny Committee has published a report which finds that the new "Reform Treaty" is "substantially equivalent to the Constitutional Treaty". This is not a surprising conclusion given that a number of EU leaders have been saying the same thing for months now. Gordon Brown is patently failing to give British people the chance to have their say on the Constitution/Treaty which will give the European Court of Justice substantial new powers over criminal law and policing. Just to illustrate how false the pretence is that the "Treaty" does not require a referendum, Kate Hoey a Labour MP has said "This is a devastating, foresnic report. Anyone who now tired to pretend that this is substantially different to the rejected EU Constitution, or that the UK has signed a different treaty is going to get nowhere. The Prime Minister must not try and back out of the referndum he promised us". So come on "Bottler Brown"........Dont bottle the EU referendum as well - you promised it to us - NOW is the time to deliver.
