Northop residents protest over traffic problems

Northop residents delivered a petition to Antoinette Sandbach calling for a zebra crossing to be installed in Northop. Local residents are frustrated with Flintshire County Council's failure to address the traffic problems making it impossible for local residents to cross the road safely. Elderly residents talked of the daily gauntlet they run in trying to cross from side of the Red Lion, towards the Church and Park View. Children from the local primary school were also present. Secondary school children also face similar daily difficulties as they have to cross the road in order to access bus services. Antoinette Sandbach raised residents concerns with Inspector Maxwell of North Wales Police in a meeting later that day. Antoinette said "I support local resident's calls for a zebra crossing which will require drivers to give way to pedestrians. I have asked North Wales Police to meet with local residents. It is now time for action after 12 years of excuses and delay from Labour run Flintshire County Council".
