Mold Food Festival a huge success

Beautiful weather saw crowds flocking to Mold Food Festival, a festival which highlights locally produced food, and has become a showcase for Welsh food producers. Celebrity chef Rachel Allen demonstrated how to make a delicious three course meal in just 45 minutes.

Antoinette Sandbach spent several hours talking to Flintshire food producers with local farms represented by Aberduna Farm (tel 01352 810 278) based in Gwernymynydd and Gwaysaney Farm (01352 758 777) from just outside Mold both showcasing their delicious local meat.

Harvies pies are now famous for their quality and taste and were Gold Winners in the awards of the Guild of Fine Food earlier this year, they are a delicious fresh or freezer staple.

Antoinette said "This was a great day, highlighting some of the wonderful quality food which Flintshire producers have to offer. It was great to see the interactive cooking from Deeside College and the Welsh College of Horticulture showed again why they are one of the leading landbased colleges in Wales. This is an event which I have been too for the last three years and I am delighted to see it growing and getting better each year."
