8 Post Offices to Close in Delyn

Post Office Limited has announced that 8 Post Offices in Delyn are to close.

Responding to the announcement Antoinette Sandbach said I am very disappointed that the Government's closure programme means that Delyn will loose eight Post Offices. The loss to these communities will be devastating. “

Local communities have fought hard to save their Post Offices and the removal of local services will hit everyone, it is going to mean expensive car journeys or those on low incomes having to fork out for bus fares.

The Consultation process in Delyn was a sham and it was a great shame that Labour politicians did not take the opportunity offered in Parliament by the Conservatives to halt the programme, so that ways of making the network more viable could be found.

Many of these closures will mean that the last retail shop in the village will now be facing closure. It is a real blow, and it is clear that the Government neither cares, nor understands the needs of rural communities.”
