Job Losses another blow for Flintshire

The job losses to go at the Corus plant in Deeside are another blow to the Flintshire economy said Antoinette Sandbach. Speaking after the flood of redundancies across all sectors in Wales Antoinette has urged the Government to adopt the National Loan scheme proposed by the Conservatives.

Antoinette said "Despite billions spent by the Government bailing out bankers Companies are still not able to get loans from the banks. Once companies can borrow they will be in a better position to keep staff and survive the recession. We also need to ensure that those on jobseekers allowance can retrain immediately in order that they can apply for jobs quickly. The Government is wasting taxpayers money on things like the VAT cut and there are far better ways to spend £12.5 billion"
