Assembly is failing to help council tax payers in Flintshire

The below inflation settlement to councils in Wales means that the Assembly is forcing greater Council Tax rises in Wales than in the rest of the UK.

Antoinette Sandbach Conservative Candidate for Delyn said "Councils in England will benefit from a two year council tax freeze under a Conservative Government. Unfortunately Flintshire will not be in the same position. Hard working families in Flintshire have seen huge council tax rises since 1997. This year the Assembly is only increasing their settlement by 2.8% in England Councils are getting a 3.5% rise. This shows what a bad deal Flintshire residents get from the Assembly. By keeping the settlement low the Assembly is introducing another stealth tax on Flintshire residents who have to pay more, or see possible service cuts."
