Antoinette Sandbach speaks up for NE wales manufacturing

Flintshire factory "Corus Colors" is leading the way in the production of high quality steel products, with Corus Colors aiming to become a market leader in promoting products for the building and energy industries which will reduce carbon footprint and make the most of the steel’s ability to be recycled into a new generation of building materials which could save energy costs for the end user. Corus has been developing a new range of products including developing new photovoltaic tiles which are low maintenance and which could revolutionise energy costs for those with large roof areas such as schools, council buildings and warehouses.

Antoinette Sandbach said "Following on from my visit two weeks ago to Corus I wanted the Conservative Shadow Energy Secretary Greg Clark to see the new products being developed by Corus and how they could aid the fight against climate change.

This is the type of business whose UK production needs to be supported by sensible financial policies, billions have been spent bailing out banks, but the Government needs to support Welsh based manufacturing.

Corus would benefit from the Conservative commitment to sustainable energy policies and from the £50 billion National Loan Guarantee scheme which would help companies obtain finance to allow construction to start again, boosting demand for steel products. I am delighted that the Shadow Energy Secretary is going to Corus to see how Flintshire based manufacturing can lead the way”
