Job losses announced at Toyota

Toyota in Deeside has announced 150 job losses. This is yet another blow to the manufacturing sector in North East Wales. Conservative Parliamentary candidate Antoinette Sandbach held a meeting last week with Kay Swinburne MEP to see what could be done to support manufacturing here in North East Wales.

Antoinette said "I was amazed to learn that the Welsh Assembly have not discussed with the European Competition Commission what help could be made available to the manufacturing sector here in North East Wales. Instead we have seen thousands of pounds wasted on pointless adverts. Whilst Flintshire manufacturing is on its knees, and people are loosing their jobs, I have been speaking to those who could help. Why has this not been done by Labour/Plaids administration. Local jobs are on the line and people in Flintshire need to see a positive programme of action rather than the dither and delay from Labour and Plaid."
